Success Rates in IVF cycle

The success rates of in vitro fertilization (IVF) can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the age of the woman undergoing the procedure, the cause of infertility, the quality of the embryos, and the experience of the fertility clinic.

According to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States, the success rates of IVF in 2018 were as follows:

  • For women under 35 years old, the live birth rate per transfer was 47.3%
  • For women aged 35-37 years old, the live birth rate per transfer was 39.2%
  • For women aged 38-40 years old, the live birth rate per transfer was 28.2%
  • For women aged 41-42 years old, the live birth rate per transfer was 16.2%
  • For women over 42 years old, the live birth rate per transfer was 5.0%

It’s important to note that these statistics are just general guidelines and may not necessarily reflect an individual’s chances of success with IVF. The success rates can vary depending on individual circumstances, such as the cause of infertility, the number and quality of embryos transferred, and any underlying health conditions. It’s best to discuss your individual situation with a fertility specialist.
