Female infertility refers to infertility in female humans which contribute to about 50% of all infertile cases. Infertility defined as one year of attempted conception without success i.e. one of the chronic health disorder affecting young couples.

 

The most common causes of female infertility include problems with ovulation, damage to fallopian tubes or uterus or problems with cervix. Age is another major issue that contribute to infertility because when a women ages, her fertility naturally tends to decrease.

The causes or factors of female infertility can be classified as acquired or genetic. It can be classified as primary or secondary infertility. Primary infertility refers to couple that has never been able to conceive a pregnancy. Secondary infertility refers to the inability to conceive or give birth when there is a previous pregnancy or live birth.

Infertility in female and its causes are difficult to diagnose. There are many available treatments, which will depend on the cause of infertility. The implications behind infertility bear huge consequences for the mental health of an infertile woman because of social presence of personal grief behind being unable to bear children.
